1872 Model Waltham Nice A. W. Co. 18K Gold Case Pocket Watch- Beautiful movement
You will not be disappointed with this fine watch! – Beautiful 18K Solid Gold Waltham Model 1872 Gentlemen’s pocket watch. The case should accommodate any 1872 movement. This is a True Classic American watch. The movement is very nice & clean, with nice damaskeened work. Woerd’s patent is stamped under the balance. The serial number is 1583652, and the case and dial are marked A. One of the winding gears has some spots that I didn’t try to remove. Case is in very good condition, with a few light scratches and a small ding on the rear cover near the hinges. The dial appears pristine, one of the finest I have seen. The dial is marked A. The crystal is glass, and has light scratches. This watch has been well preserved. The thick 18K case covers open and close properly, and open to less than 90 degrees. The bow is stiff. The hands look original. The 18k case is approximately 52 mm at the smallest diameter, excluding the bow and winding stem. The total weight of the entire watch is 120.5 grams. The weight of the case without the movement, winding stem, and crystal is 61.7 grams. And the case does not have metal springs, so the 18K gold is very close to 61.7 grams. The watch is running strong — Over 12 hours it was with approximately +/- 1 minute. I have tried to take pictures of all the important features.
