BOURQUIN & FILS Hinged 18k Gold Case Pocket / Pendant Watch ORIGINAL BOX & KEY
Offered here is a magnificent gift opportunity! This 18 K yellow gold E. BOURQUIN & FILS Swiss case pendant or pocket watch belonged to a 19th-century Mississippi RIver riverboat captain. The family story is that it was presented to him upon his retirement in the last decade of the 19th century. Captain Kintner died in 1919, and Kintner, Indiana, is named for his progenitor. It measures 1.5 inches in diameter and is still housed in its ORIGINAL BOX with its ORIGINAL KEY and its original parts, which is a great rarity. The case is styled in a floral and shield crest design. The movement is a 3 jewel, key wind, white enamel dial with black roman numerals. The words Bourguin & Fils Locle with number 35217 are engraved on the movement cover. The watch weighs 42 grams with movement and crystal. It has the original enamel dial, painted roman numerals, auxiliary second, and blued steel breguet hands. CONDITION: As reported above, it has resided for decades in a family safety deposit lock box and comes in its own original presentation box with its own original key.
