1781 SILVER PAIR CASED VERGE FUSEE POCKET WATCH ED FEARNLEY LONDON WORKING. Antique Circa 1781 silver pair cased Verge fusee pocket watch in good working order. The dial is white enamel with black Roman numerals and black coloured poker and beetle hands. The movement is a chain driven fusee with Verge escapement Fire gilt plates with square pillars, pierced decorated cock over a plain steel balance with Tompion type regulator. The watch winds strongly, sets and runs for over 24 hours and is in good working order running the full length of its chain and keeping good time for a verge of this age. It has a good swinging balance and good chain. The movement is marked Edm Fearnley London and the number 224. Both watch cases are marked to the inside with London silver hallmarks for 1781 and the markers mark IM. It is key wind and set. The dial and dial glass are clean and clear and free from any chips or cracks apart from one or two small scuff marks to the dial.
