1905 ELGIN FATHER TIME 21j RAILROAD Pocket Watch 18sz ENGRAVED SILVERODE Case
An outstanding early 18 size ELGIN FATHER TIME RAILROAD Pocket Watch dating to 1905. The watch is fitted with a beautiful open face silverode case with a newer acrylic crystal. KEEP IN MIND THESE EARLY RAILROAD GRADE WATCHES ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND!!! The case measures 57mm in diameter. The original Nickel Movement with Gold Inlay is marked FATHER TIME, ELGIN ILL. This is a stem wind and lever set 21 jewel original Elgin movement that has been recently cleaned and oiled and appears to be keeping time. The original white porcelain double sunk Dial is marked ELGIN in block letters and has bold black Arabic Numerals with a sub dial at 6. The dial has one hairline at 3 which is probably not visible in the pictures but I can see it with magnification, however, I really do not believe it detracts from the overall look of the watch. Period engraved Silverode case is in fantastic condition throughout. Marked inside the back cover with the Crown Logo and SILVERODE. Excellent quality and condition — hard to find one of this era nicer than this!
