Here is an outstanding example of a 14K SOLID GOLD HUNTER CASE Pocket watch…. The gross weight of the assembled watch is 121.4 grams, decorative engraving patterns to both covers with strong detail remaining, a large antlered deer in the center with a superb crisp outline and heavily detailed features, the engine-turning on the band and the covers remains mint-like, the inside covers are highly polished, the case is signed “Warranted 14K” and tested to that content both electronically and with acid test…. The Elgin gilt movement is a grade 2 model 3, with all gilt inlay lettering, the balance cock has elaborate engraving, and the screws are all blued steel… The serial number indicates the year of production to have been 1885, and the presentation engraving goes to Dec. This is a somewhat scarce model as there were only 48000 produced in its 16 year run from 1880 to 1896, and it is unusual to find one in this fantastic condition, after over 130 years….
