A rare Illinois Watch Co. 21 Jewel Deck watch, dating to circa 1913, in a gimballed 3 tier wooden display case in good general condition and good working order, keeping good time. The wooden 3 tier case is in good general condition, the hinges and catches are in good working order. The second tier includes a glass panel which is in good condition. The bottom section includes a brass gimbal mechanism with a manually operated lock arm which can be rotated across the mechanism. The movement is housed in a brass fitting with a screw on top and bottom section. The bottom fitting is weighted to enhance the gimbal mechanism. The wooden case measures 5 inches x 5 inches x 5 inches when closed. The movement metal dial is in good condition, it measures 53mm in diameter. The hands are in good condition. The quality Jewelled lever movement is in good condition and good working order, keeping good time, runs for approx. 30 hours from full wind. It is marked’A Lincoln Springfield Ill. 21 Jewels, ADJUSTED 5 POSITIONS, DOUBLE ROLLER’ and numbered 2502579. The movement is crown wind and set by a lever at the edge of the dial at the 2 o’clock position (take the front cover off, pull the lever out and adjust the time with the crown), these are in good working order.
