Attractive raised details, blue and black enamel among foliate engravings, photo with painted embellishments inside rear, signed gold cuvette, 56 marking inside case lids for Russian zolotnik system, indicating piece was likely made for the Imperial Russian market, where Tobias watches were highly regarded. The white enamel dial is in very good condition. The watch is pin-set, cylinder escapement, 10J, nickel damascene movement, serial number 40499, with matching number in case. Gross weight of assembled watch 19.9 dwt (31.0 g). The movement is running but slips when winding, otherwise in fine cosmetic condition overall, however, service is recommended. The case shows some wear, few insignificant dents on front, excellent engraving details, the enameling has come off the front at some areas. Minor signs of wear, as shown on the pictures. This is a rare and beautiful small pocket watch, with a historical significance.
