E photos for this watch were taken by a high megapixel digital camera and show detail far beyond what you could see with the naked eye. The details are such as you would see by using a magnifying glass. Watch Company is a Swiss Watch Brand. Rare as there are few examples around. I can’t find any information on this watchmaker. This is an antique gentleman’s pocket watch. It is about 100 years old, probably made around 1920 in Switzerland. The movement looks very clean, no issues or patina. It’s a hunter case in great vintage condition with just some light wear and a couple of dings. The beautiful engraving on both outer covers is excellent with light wear. The watch does not work. The hand painted porcelain dial is good vintage condition with a set of hairline cracks starting at a point between the Roman Numerals VIII & IX and some discoloration in the subseconds dial. The hands are missing. The photos show a single hand, bent to one side but that is gone now, broken off. The dial has hand painted black Roman numerals and they are in mint condition. There is a minutes register running around the edge of the dial with bold markers at the main positions. The crystal is missing. This is an antique jeweled watch movement made in Switzerland around a century ago. The movement is in great vintage condition with no issues or patina. It is very clean. It is pendant wind & set. There is a few visible jewel settings on the movement. It has no markings on the watch except for fast and slow (in French) on the balance bridge. The movement measures 42 mm across. The movement is not running. The movement was running, I had gotten it to run a couple of times for hours at a time, but now it stopped running and it’s being very stubborn. That’s why you can wind the crown, because it had run. This is a beautiful Swiss hunter case with a flowered engraving on both the back and the hunter front cover. The front has a shield with a monogram, and the back is fully engraved, no shield. Other than that detail the two engravings are nearly identical. The case is in overall great vintage condition with only some minor wear. The hunter front cover pops open when the crown is pushed down, and the spring loaded mechanism is still working good, it opens the cover and holds it open. All three covers are snap on. Neither one of the outer covers close tight. They both close, and stay close, but they don’t have a tight fit anymore. You can see on the photos 10 and 11 that the fit is not perfect. The outer surface of the dust cover has a beautiful engraving of two dragons holding an oval shape with an Angel inside, and 8 medals all individually decorated. Inside the engraving, it is signed: “ANCRE / LEVEES VISIBLES / DOUBLE PLATEAU / SPIRAL BREGUET / 15 RUBIS” This translates to: “LEVER ESCAPEMENT / (Pallet fork with visible ruby pallets) / DOUBLE ROLLERS / (A balance spiral [hairspring] with an isochronous Breguet curb) / 15 JEWELS”. The inside of all three covers have only the matching serial number 10202, nothing else, no silver hallmarks. Not even a repair mark. The only difference is that the two back covers also have an “M” under the number, and the front hunter cover does not. The inside of the of the back cover has like five places where it was tested to make sure it was silver as the watch doesn’t the traditional silver marks on the covers. There is two hallmarks on the watch. One the front of the bow, right next to the left end there is a hallmark. It looks like hieroglyphics to me, but you can see there is something there. It’s very clear, I just can’t make out what it means. It’s just too small. Also on the back of the stem there is something there also I believe though this one is so small I can’t really make out anything here at all. The edge of the frame is great except for two serious dings on one side (see photo number 9). Is 50 mm across not including the stem and bow. On the outer covers, the front is worn more than the back, mostly on the edges. The back is in better condition, with a lot less wear, but also mostly around the edges. As far as the material used to make the case, it looks silver to me. I have seen a lot of these cases, and I believe this one is silver though I can’t prove it. Also of interest, though there is very few examples of Seraph watches anywhere, what few examples I did find online, they were all cased in either Silver or Gold. Not all precious metal cases were marked as such. The crown works perfect to wind the watch, to set the time and to release the front cover. It’s in excellent vintage condition with some light wear that you could not see without help of a loupe. The stem is in excellent vintage condition, with no issues. The bow is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. I do not polish or refinish any watch that I have in my possession. I do make sure that the watch and all of it’s functions are working perfectly before I list a watch.
