1880′s Ami Sandoz & Son 13J Key Wind/Set 54mm Sterling Silver Case Runs Great. This watch will look better in your hand than it does in the pics. A renowned Swiss watchmaker, Ami Sandoz was known for quality timepieces and this is no exception – plus it’s a stunning example! The key wind/key set, high grade movement is a 13 jewel model and it looks visually clean and original. It features a compensating chronometric balance and is unsigned. The watch winds and sets and runs strong, keeping good time, though I have no idea when it was last serviced. It is cased in a beautiful Sterling silver, double backed, four hinged hunter case with normal surface scratches, but low wear for it’s age, with no significant dents or dings in the case. The inner case is signed’Detached Lever”13 Jewels’ Ami Sandoz & Son’ and’Chronometer Balance’. Case diameter is large at approx. The unsigned porcelain dial has a sub second hand at 6 o’clock and does have a couple of visible hairline cracks, but still looks quite good. The clover fancy hands look great and it’s fitted with it’s original, true glass crystal. Also come with it’s winding key, as seen in the pics. This is rare, solid running watch in great shape for it’s age from a highly reputable maker…. Don’t miss it!
