Pocket Watch Case

FROM ESTATE OF A LONG-TIME LOCAL POCKET WATCH COLLECTOR! An antique size 18s Illinois Watch Co. Lincoln Railroad Grade pocket watch. Watch Grade is A. Lincoln w/21 jewel, lever set movement with ruby jewels. This watch has a Double Roller, full plate, openface movement with nickel finish in a parallel linear pattern. The watch adjusts to temperature and five total positions This watch has a very clean, bright white single-sunk dial, with a second hand register and fancy Arabic numerals and is marked “ILLINOIS”. I can’t tell is this is a reproduction dial or if original and been resurfaced, as it has a very glossy surface with evidence of underlying cracks. Spade and Whip watch hands have a gorgeous azure blue finish. The watch was manufactured circa 1908 with movement Serial Number: 2080996. Bow is tight, watch winds and sets easily and keeps good time. Watch is encased in a Wadsworth 20 year Guarantee Gold Filled screw back and bezel case, Serial number: 1230088. Case has a smooth polished finish with some brassing on the bow and below the crown. Case has light scratches consistent with age and use but there is a significant ding on case edge near numeral 10. Watch measures 54 mm in diameter X 75 mm long (at bow) X 18 mm thick (crystal included). Acrylic crystal is in nice condition with light scratches. This antique Illinois A. Lincoln Railroad Watch is in very nice condition, with many years of trouble-free service remaining. Watch has not been timed for accuracy and current state of operation and/or running can not be guaranteed as items are used and have not been mechanically serviced.
