This is a really great late 18thC verge fusee pair cased pocket watch. Excellent solid silver pair case… Outer is 55mm diameter. All hallmarks are very good, especially the outer cover marks which are super-crisp and clear! Wonderful fire-gilt verge movement, with a low serial number of 316. Exquisitely pierced decorated balance cock with very defined grotesque. Could be acrylic replacement… I’m not sure. But all things considered it’s actually pretty damn good! A really cracking example of a 1780 pair cased watch, and a true antique timepiece! 230 years old and still running well! Definitely worthy of any collection, and in such good condition that it’s also very wearable.
